Checking In: The Lake Como EDITION

The Lake Como EDITION

The Lake Como EDITION trades old-world grandeur for something more precise, a palazzo with sharper lines, stronger energy and a distinctly modern take on lakeside luxury.

Location

The Lake Como EDITION occupies a prime address in Cadenabbia, one of Lake Como’s most quietly strategic vantage points. From here, the views stretch across to Bellagio and the surrounding peaks, with direct waterfront access making movement across the lake feel seamless rather than staged. The property’s private dock adds a level of ease that matters on Lake Como, whether for scenic boat journeys or simply arriving with a little more discretion.

This side of the lake lends itself to a slower, more elegant rhythm. Mornings begin with the water at full stillness, afternoons invite crossing to Bellagio or lingering along the shoreline, and aperitivo feels built into the landscape. Appealing to those who value both scenery and access, with enough distance from the more theatrical corners of the lake to feel intimately private.

Rooms

Neri&Hu furnishings, marble-lined bathrooms and restored balconies with Bellagio in view.

148 guest rooms, including 25 suites, two penthouses and one private villa, all conceived as calm, contemporary retreats. Custom furnishings by Neri&Hu, restored French balconies in select categories and a palette of Calacatta marble, bespoke walnut and soft lake-blue tones give the interiors a distinctly polished sensibility.

Rooms feature European white oak floors, ivory plaster walls, spa-like marble bathrooms and Le Labo amenities, while many open onto lake views that frame Bellagio and the peaks beyond. Suites build on that language with custom wool carpets, tailored millwork and larger indoor-outdoor living, while the penthouses introduce landscaped terraces, lounge and dining areas, and a more residential perspective on the lake.

Dining

Dining that moves from salon glamour to lakeside ease.

Dining is designed to move with the day, from morning light to late-evening aperitivo. At the Lobby Bar, cocktails and Italian bites are served beneath five-metre vaulted ceilings, antique mirrors and rose-toned plaster, creating the atmosphere of a contemporary Italian salon with just enough drama.

Cetino by Mauro Colagreco marks the chef’s first restaurant in Italy and brings a more thoughtful, terroir-led perspective to the lake. Circular gastronomy, hyper-seasonal ingredients and local producers shape a restaurant that feels rooted in nature without losing any sense of occasion. RENZO offers a more relaxed all-day setting, with generous seasonal dishes served on a pergola-shaded terrace framed by herbs, citrus trees and lake views. By the water, The Pool shifts into a more playful mood, with Mediterranean dishes, light global touches and a low-key aperitivo energy that feels exactly right for summer on the lake.

The Pool

Wellness

Diagnostics-led treatments, a lake-facing vitality pool and one of Como’s most advanced spa concepts.

Wellness centres on The Longevity Spa, the first of its kind on Lake Como. The approach is science-based and highly personalised, beginning with expert-led assessments that look at sleep quality, inflammation, oxidative stress and other markers to build a more tailored longevity programme.

The spa includes 10 treatment rooms, an indoor vitality pool with floor-to-ceiling lake views, a Turkish bath, herbal sauna, plunge pools and outdoor relaxation terraces surrounded by Mediterranean flora. Signature treatments use Le Labo products, while the adjoining 150 sqm fitness studio is equipped with Technogym and supported by personal training, yoga and Pilates on request. The overall impression is precise and contemporary, with just enough softness to keep the experience from feeling clinical.

Location

Cadenabbia offers a quieter side of Lake Como, with Bellagio across the water and just enough distance from the lake’s busier addresses. From The Lake Como EDITION, take the Greenway for an early walk, climb to San Martino for a less expected panorama, or slip into nearby Tremezzo for a glass at Cantina Follie. For something more local than polished, La Torre San Martino is worth the detour. This is the lake at a slower, more insider tempo.
